As a part of ongoing capital improvement program for its Riker’s Island and NYC borough facilities, the New York City Department of Correction contracted AG to upgrade several facilities. These facilities included: Bronx House of Detention for Men, Brooklyn Correctional Facility for Men, Queens House of Detention for Men, North Infirmary Command Center and the Correctional Institute for Men. For each facility, AG provided design and construction phase services to upgrade and/or replace electrical power, emergency generator, lighting, fire alarm systems, security systems, intrusion alarm, panic button systems, intercom, door position switch & annunciation systems, telephone/data systems. The project also included design of professional kitchens and contagious diseases area. It was very crucial in the project to ensure that phasing and scheduling of the construction did not interrupt the daily operations of the facilities.
